Kuwait city: Acting Director-General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Mohammad Al-Menai met with Head of the UN-Habitat Programme in Kuwait Dr. Amira Al-Hassan to discuss strengthening joint media cooperation and highlighting UN efforts in the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, during the meeting held Thursday at KUNA headquarters, Al-Menai affirmed the agency's keenness to support UN initiatives and utilize its media platforms to serve developmental and humanitarian causes, praising UN-Habitat's local and regional role.
He stressed that enhancing cooperation in media and awareness fields and working towards renewed media partnerships would contribute to supporting national efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to urban development.
For her part, Dr. Al-Hassan expressed appreciation for KUNA's role and continuous cooperation with UN institutions and missions, emphasizing the importance of media as a key partner in spreading public awareness and supporting development programs.
Dr. Al-Hassan praised KUNA's efforts in covering events and conferences related to sustainable urban development, in addition to its support for joint initiatives aimed at promoting awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals locally and regionally.
She expressed anticipation for strengthening future partnerships with KUNA to highlight successful national experiences and link them with UN efforts.
The meeting was attended by KUNA Deputy Director-General for Editorial Sector Esam Al-Ghanim and Acting Editor-in-Chief Mohammad Al-Bahar.
