Acting Finance Minister Emphasizes Kuwait’s Role in Global Economic Forums

Davos: Acting Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem affirmed Kuwait's commitment to enhancing its presence at international economic forums.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Mukhaizeem, who also serves as the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, made these remarks on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos. He stated that Kuwait's participation aligns with directives from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

He highlighted that active involvement in such forums supports the government's development plans by showcasing Kuwait's economic strengths and reflecting its national vision. This participation also aims to strengthen strategic partnerships that support mutual interests and foster sustainable growth and diversification.

Al-Mukhaizeem mentioned his involvement in discussions covering various topics, including reforms in housing welfare, private housing development, public debt management, and increasing non-oil revenues. These discussions are part of broader economic reforms intended to advance diversification plans and reinforce the nation's long-term financial sustainability.

He emphasized that the global environment of ambiguity and uncertainty does not affect the Gulf Cooperation Council states, particularly Kuwait. The country's political stability offers a low-risk environment that is attractive to foreign investors seeking secure long-term investment opportunities.

The annual WEF meeting, themed "Spirit of Dialogue," is dedicated to fostering dialogue and cooperation amid economic changes, geopolitical developments, inflation risks, technological transformation, renewable energy shifts, climate change impacts, and uncertainties in global growth. It gathers over 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries, including around 400 leaders, government officials, major corporations, international financial institutions, and esteemed researchers and academics, bringing together diverse perspectives from multiple economic sectors.
