Basra, The Basra Governorate Police Command announced today, Sunday, the arrest of a suspect accused of robbing a citizen, stealing his car, and shooting him with gunfire in the north of the governorate.
The command stated in a statement, “After receiving information about a citizen being subjected to a robbery in Al-Majidiyah area in Al-Haritha district, a work team was immediately formed from the Crime Control Department in Basra, and after collecting information, investigating, and tracking cameras and the complainant’s stolen phone with the car, the work team was able to find and arrest of the accused.
The statement added, "The accused was found in his possession the stolen car, the weapon used in the robbery crime (a personal pistol), and the complainant's stolen phone. Legal measures were taken against him and he was referred to the judiciary.
