Al-Amara – The security forces in Maysan arrested a defendant who had been sentenced to death in absentia for committing the murder of a citizen of Baghdad Governorate.
The Maysan Police Command said in a statement: “A joint security force was able to arrest a defendant wanted by one of the investigative authorities in Baghdad Governorate in accordance with the provisions of Article (406) and who was sentenced to death in absentia for committing the crime of premeditated murder.”
The Command added, “The arrest operation came according to information from reliable sources, as the accused was present in one of the areas of the city of Amara after escaping from Baghdad Governorate.”/End
