6th Islamic Solidarity Games Begins in Riyadh with Grand Ceremony

Riyadh: The sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games commenced in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, marked by the presence of Kuwait's Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi. The event was further graced by the attendance of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee Chairman, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the opening ceremony showcased a parade of delegations from 57 Islamic countries, each delegation proudly carrying its national flag. The event saw the participation of over 3,000 male and female athletes, highlighting the unity and diversity within the Islamic world through sports.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser emphasized to KUNA that the tournament serves as a crucial platform for fostering cooperation among Islamic nations. He noted that the event underscores the principles of brotherhood and peace, which are the foundational values of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation.

Sheikh Fahad further mentioned that Kuwait's involvement in the tournament is reflective of its ongoing commitment to participating in regional and international sporting events, as well as its dedication to supporting Kuwaiti athletes. The games, organized under the slogan 'One Nation,' aim to enhance cooperation and build stronger connections among the youth in the Islamic world.
