57th Cairo International Book Fair Kicks Off with Saudi Participation

Cairo: The 57th Cairo International Book Fair opened today at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, along with a number of Arab and foreign ministers and diplomats. The event features the participation of 1,457 publishing houses from 83 Arab and foreign countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi participation in the fair, which runs until February 3, includes ten government entities led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission. Participating entities also include the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, the Saudi Cultural Attach© in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Fahd National Library, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, the Arabic Observatory of Translation, the Saudi Criticism Lab, and the Publishing Association.

This edition is the largest in the fair's history in terms of participation and the diversity of activities. Its cultural and intellectual program includes around 400 cultural and artistic events, 100 book-signing ceremonies, and 120 artistic performances, with the participation of 170 Arab and international guests and more than 1,500 intellectuals and creatives.
