20 Houbara Bustards Released in Qassim National Park

Qassim: Governor of Qassim Region Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz has released 20 Houbara bustards in Qassim National Park. This release is part of the National Center for Wildlife's (NCW) breeding and reintroduction programs to restore endangered wildlife species to nature reserves and national parks.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative aims to enhance biodiversity in Qassim National Park and support its environmental and tourism assets. Through cooperation with the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, it also supports the implementation of national wildlife development plans, aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

National parks represent safe environmental corridors that connect protected areas, allowing wildlife to move and adapt within their natural ranges and enhancing the long-term sustainability of ecosystems.
