Kirkuk- Kirkuk Governorate witnessed the destruction of more than 14 tons and 391 kg, which represents 22 million 180 thousand and 800 pills of narcotic substances, psychotropic substances, and materials that support the process of preparing and manufacturing toxic drugs.
It was burned under the supervision of the Governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, and the Supreme Committee for the Destruction of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in Iraq, which includes, headed by Judge Suhaib Daham and as members, a representative of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministries of Interior, Finance, Health, the Supreme Commission for Combating Narcotics, a number of security leaders and relevant departments, security and health specialists, and an elite group of journalists and the media.
The procedure comes in accordance with Article 42, Clause One, of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control Law, in which the Supreme Committee is responsible for destroying drugs
